Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and use construction plans and MUTCD standards.
• Plan, coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments.
• Train and evaluate the work of others.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles related to traffic control devices.
• Familiarity with traffic control design processes and ITS elements.
• Proficiency with MS Office and traffic engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data and prepare reports and recommendations.
• Communicate with VDOT staff, local government, consultants, and the public.
• Design traffic control device plans using iPM and PCES.
• Manage projects within budgets and schedules.
• Oversee and train team members; ensure quality and consistency.
• Review catalog cuts and ensure conformance with contract.
• Lead technical guidance to consultants and staff.
