Traffic Design Engineer

Ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms, we are seeking a Traffic Design Engineer to join our team.

Position summary:

The Traffic Design Engineer is responsible for engineering design using general engineering principles to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship, except for TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform corridor safety and feasibility studies.
  2. Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other data to plan projects.
  3. Perform design computations.
  4. Design projects according to client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
  5. Develop construction cost estimates.
  6. Assist in preparing engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
  7. Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion within deadlines and quality standards.
  8. Assist Project Managers in client interactions to present findings and recommendations.
Non-essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Proficiency in discipline-specific design software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
  • Engineer-in-training certification.
  • Related experience.
Working Conditions:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment (95%), with occasional fieldwork outside in various weather conditions. Some lifting up to 25 lbs may be required.
