If you have strong organizational and GIS skills and enjoy traveling, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is looking for a Field Operations Planner to collect, process, and analyze traffic data while working with contracts, innovative databases, and advanced data collection, GIS, and CAD technologies. Having experience with Python, FME, or SQL is a plus. Field Operations Planner II- B20 Salary Range $65,000.00 - $70,000.00
Field Operations Planner III- B22 Salary Range $70,000.00 - $75,000.00

Position Description
Field Operations Planner II:
Performs planning and programming activities in support of management-related programs, traffic data collection contracts, and department maps using ArcGIS and TxDOT’s Statewide Traffic Analysis and Reporting System (STARS II). Work requires contact with departmental managers, high-level executives, governmental/university officials and/or private entities. Work requires duties in heavy traffic and statewide travel. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Field Operations Planner III:
Performs complex planning and programming activities in support of management-related programs, traffic data collection contracts, and department maps using ArcGIS and TxDOT’s Statewide Traffic Analysis and Reporting System (STARS II). Work requires contact with departmental managers, high-level executives, governmental/university officials and/or private entities. Work requires duties in heavy traffic and statewide travel. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.

Education:Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Business Admin or related field.
