Position Overview

We are seeking a Traffic EIT/Designer for our Pensacola, FL office to join our traffic team. Under the guidance of a Project Engineer/Manager, you will work on various traffic engineering and planning projects, supporting our Transportation Planning Section's growth.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform transportation planning tasks supporting traffic simulation and capacity analyses.
  2. Assist in developing traffic forecasts using regional travel demand models.
  3. Evaluate multimodal transportation systems, presenting results graphically.
  4. Conduct operational traffic analysis with modeling tools, analyzing intersections, roundabouts, arterials, and freeway segments.
  5. Write reports to communicate analysis results and recommendations, and present findings to the team.
  6. Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Engineering Intern status (Fundamentals Exam passed) or ability to obtain within 12 months; initially titled Traffic Coordinator.
  • Interest in planning and designing complete streets, bicycle/pedestrian planning, and traffic operations.
  • Excellent communication skills for presentations and documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, AIMSUM, VISSIM, CUBE, VISUM, and MicroStation.
  • Preference for local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with traffic design using CAD platforms like MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Guide Sign software.
  • Operational analysis skills using tools like HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and Aimsun.
  • Safety analysis experience with software such as Highway Safety Software.
  • Ability to multitask across multiple projects.
