City Rise Utility Traffic Control is seeking a Traffic Control Trainee in Bakersfield. The role offers an hourly rate of $23.51–$28.82, with IBEW Trainee classification and full-time hours.

As part of a union team, you will support flagging in work zones, ensure safety, and adapt to varying schedules and assignments throughout the state. This position is ideal for candidates ready to grow within utility traffic control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• ATSSA Flagger Certification required.
• First Aid/CPR Certification required.
• Flexible Schedule; ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functions.
• Assist with day-to-day work zone setup, including setup and tear down.
• Drive company trucks as needed.
• Keep equipment in trucks well organized and in working order.
• Develop knowledge of work zone setup and flagging responsibilities.
• Provide clear direction to customers and the public around work zones.
• Provide the highest level of customer service with on-time arrival and well-managed work zones.
