Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services in the Atlanta metro area is seeking an experienced Traffic Control / TMA Driver to support district-wide signing operations. This role helps maintain safe work zones on interstates and state routes during highway sign installation projects.

You will set up closures, operate attenuator trucks, manage signage and cones, perform daily vehicle inspections, and ensure compliance with DOT safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with traffic control and lane closures.
• Ability to obtain ATSSA or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain single-lane and double-lane closures per plans.
• Operate attenuator (crash) trucks to protect crews on active roadways.
• Perform traffic control duties including cone placement and signage.
• Assist sign crew with installation and maintenance of roadway signage.
• Drive company vehicles safely in high-traffic environments.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and basic equipment checks.
• Ensure work zones meet DOT safety standards and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with crew for safe, efficient operations.
• Respond to emergency and after-hours work as required.
