Job summary

Grace Pacific Corporation is seeking a dependable traffic control associate to join our field crew in Hawaii. You will flag, set up road closures, and operate MUTCD-compliant equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on projects across the islands.

You will also perform shop duties, manage inventory, and assist with vehicle and equipment maintenance. The role requires flexibility, good communication, and the ability to work 24/7 in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools preferred.
• Good mathematical skills to calculate and maintain proper count of equipment used/rented.
• Good reading and writing skills to comprehend and communicate written orders, instructions and technical information related to road closures and/or rentals.
• Map reading highly desired.
• Valid driver's license, favorable traffic abstract, and ability to meet DOT requirements for commercial vehicle drivers.

Responsibilities

• Performs traffic control duties (flagging, road closures) per MUTCD, including sign/equipment selection for closures.
• Performs shop work: preparing orders, cleaning/repairing equipment, and general housekeeping.
• Delivers/picks up and positions traffic control devices as directed.
• Programs message centers and portable electronic signal systems as required.
• Ensures documents are completed daily for all assignments, maintaining equipment inventory.
• Completes pre-trip forms and reports vehicle issues to Supervisor or Dispatcher.
• Identifies when equipment should be refurbished or replaced and alerts Supervisor.
• May be required to lift varying weight based on duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
