Job summary

The Universal Group in Oregon is seeking a diligent flagger to help keep work zones safe and traffic flowing. You will set up traffic control zones, direct vehicles and pedestrians, comply with OSHA, MUTCD, and local standards, and communicate clearly with dispatch and crews.

This role travels to assigned sites around the Portland Metro Area; a valid Oregon Flagger Certification is required (or willingness to obtain it).

Qualifications

• Valid Oregon Flagger Certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
• Knowledge of traffic control procedures and work zone safety standards.
• Understanding of OSHA, Oregon OSHA and MUTCD guidelines.
• Excellent communication with dispatch, supervisors and team members.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, adjusts, and dismantles traffic control zones per plans and site needs.
• Directs vehicle and pedestrian traffic with clear signals and stop/slow paddles.
• Complies with safety policies and responds to hazards and emergencies.
• Maintains PPE and equipment readiness; travels to worksites as needed.
