Job summary

AWP Safety is looking for Protectors to work at job sites. No experience or degree is needed. Safety comes first—we train you. You will set up cones, signs and barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and communicate with your crew.

You work outside in all weather, shifts may include nights and weekends, and you may stand 8 to 12 hours. We provide a hard hat, safety goggles, vest, whistle, walkie-talkie, and weather gear; you bring steel-toe boots. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and in changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; show up on time, every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades at job sites.
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor activity.
• Following all safety rules learned in training.
• Communicating with crew and supervisor.
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
