Job summary

Traffic Engineering Services (TES), a Helix Company, is hiring for an in-person flagger position in Elkridge, Maryland. You will report to our Maryland yard before heading to job sites, directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic and helping keep work zones safe.

Entry-level flagger training and advanced traffic control courses are offered to help you grow within the company. If you're dependable and ready for a hands-on outdoor role, we'd love to meet you.

Qualifications

• Must communicate clearly and work well in a team.
• Willing to learn and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Experience in traffic control is a plus.
• Valid driver's license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around construction sites and designated work zones.
• Help establish and maintain safe work zones to protect construction crews, customers, pedestrians, and the traveling public.
• Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices as directed.
• Monitor job site conditions and report hazards to supervisors.
• Work with crew members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain clear communication regarding traffic patterns and safety procedures.
• Follow company safety policies and traffic control standards.
• Remain alert in active roadway environments and changing weather conditions.

This is an in-person position. Employees report to our Elkridge, Maryland yard before being transported to their assigned job sites.

Job Responsibilities

• Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around construction sites and designated work zones.
• Help establish and maintain safe work zones to protect construction crews, customers, pedestrians, and the traveling public.
• Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices as directed.
• Monitor job site conditions and promptly report potential hazards, unsafe conditions, or concerns to supervisors.
• Work closely with fellow crew members, supervisors, and job site personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain clear and professional communication regarding traffic patterns, changing conditions, and safety procedures.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and applicable traffic control standards.
• Remain alert and focused while working in active roadway environments and changing weather conditions.
