Job summary

AWP Safety in Ohio is hiring a Protector to join our traffic management team. You will set up cones, signs, and barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and help keep equipment and sites safe while working outdoors in all weather.

No prior experience or degree is required; we provide training and support to help you build a career. Shifts vary, including some nights, weekends, or emergency work, with paid training and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (safety sensitive).
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and remove traffic control equipment.
• Use stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor site activity.
• Follow all safety rules learned in training.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outdoors year-round in all weather.
• Stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.
• Wear provided PPE and bring safe footwear as required.

Your daily work includes:

Setting up cones, signs, and barricadesand taking traffic control equipment down

Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity

Following all safety rules taught in training

Communicating with your crew and supervisor

Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe

Working outside all year, in all weather

Shifts may change based on job needs:Some nights, weekends, or emergency work may berequired

You may stand or walk8 to 12 hours per shift

We give you a hard hat, safety goggles, a safety vest, safety whistle, walkie talkie, and cold/hot weather gear: you bring your own steel toe safetyboots that go above the ankle.

Pay:

• $17.65–$19.50 per hour
