Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking an operations technician to support traffic control and warehouse tasks. You will set up and take down lane closures and flag traffic, while redirecting drivers for workers or survey crews on state highways and other roadways.

Work independently or as part of a crew, with flexible hours and all-season conditions. Training provided for flagging; height/weight limits apply; strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• Flagging certificate is a plus; training available.
• Highly organized with strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Flag traffic safely and efficiently.
• Identify and pull accurate signs for jobs and assemble signage.
• Complete work orders for standard setups and takedowns.
• Understand four basic set ups: lane shift, lane closure, road closure, and flagger.
• Operate pickup trucks, including backing and positioning equipment.
• Communicate professionally with coworkers, clients, and staff.
• Read basic traffic control plans and maps.
• Load trucks with required materials and verify contents.
• Close work orders with return and pickup times.

Job Summary

Completes operations of assigned traffic control/safety projects setting up and taking down lane closures and flagging traffic. Able to work in the field on traffic control and in the warehouse for various jobs and prep for jobs. Performs lane closures and flagging traffic on state highways and other roadways. Redirect traffic for workers or survey crews. Work independently or part of a traffic control crew. Assemble, deliver, and pick up safety products from job sites. Flexible hours, early starts and late finishes based on day to day operations. All season position.

Essential Functions:

• Flagging traffic
• Identify and pull accurate signs for jobs
• Assembly of signage
• Complete work orders on standard set ups and take downs
• Understanding and knowledge of four basic set ups--lane shift, lane closure, road closure and flagger
• Ability to drive pick-up trucks and include backing, pulling and positioning of trailered equipment
• Ability to communicate with co-workers, clients and staff, professionally, efficiently and effectively.
• Understand and read basic traffic control plans and maps
• Execute work orders by loading trucks with appropriate requirement or checking loaded trucks for requirements.
• Close work order with indication of return and pick up times

Education, Experience, Skills and Ability:

• Must be 21+
• Flagging certificate, a plus but will train
• Highly organized, effective communicator
• Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure
• Exceptionally strong eye for details
• Can work effectively independently or as part of a team
• Handles customer concerns and requests for information in an expeditious and professional manner
• Proficient with maps and directions

Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds for short periods of time
• Ability to work long periods of time in all seasons regardless of weather conditions

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr
