Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Palmetto, AL is hiring a Traffic Clerk for weekend nights. You’ll schedule inbound and outbound freight, coordinate drivers and equipment, and ensure all shipping and receiving documents are accurate.

You’ll interact with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams to maintain high service levels and strong security compliance. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, order picking, and loading/unloading trailers.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or transportation environment.
• Strong communication with drivers, carriers, warehouse teams, and transportation personnel.
• Ability to verify driver credentials, shipment paperwork, and trailer information while maintaining security and compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, WMS, and yard management tools to research loads and track equipment movements.
• Attention to detail, multitasking, and problem-solving in a fast-paced gatehouse operation.

Responsibilities

• Schedule inbound and outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations.
• Meet or exceed service and efficiency standards for shipping and receiving.

Shift: Weekend Nights
Hours: 5PM-5AM
Days: Saturday - Monday
Pay: $19.75 per hour + $3.00 shift premium

Preferred Qualification:

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or transportation environment with knowledge of shipping, receiving, and trailer movements.
  

• Strong customer service and communication skills to effectively interact with drivers, carriers, warehouse teams, and transportation personnel.
  

• Ability to accurately verify driver credentials, shipment paperwork, trailer information, seals, and inbound/outbound load documentation while maintaining security and compliance standards.
  

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems (WMS), and yard management tools to research loads, update records, and track equipment movements.
  

• Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and problem-solving skills to manage a fast-paced gatehouse operation, resolve shipment discrepancies, and maintain accurate yard and trailer records.

Role Purpose

Responsible for scheduling truck deliveries and pick ups

Works closely with customer service, client representatives, and representatives and drivers of trucking firms to achieve and maintain high service levels

Coordinates drivers, equipment, and freight

Ensures that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time

Key Accountabilities

• Schedule inbound and outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations and capacities.
• Meet or exceed all service and efficiency standards for shipping and receiving.
• Ensure accuracy of all shipping and receiving (B.O.L.) documents.
• Handle all customers and customer representatives at the dispatch window.
• Gather and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
• Maintain legible and accurate records and logs as required.
• Assist in training new associates.
• Assist in maintaining facility security.
• Maintain the facility dock door control board to be accurate at all times.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can’t be self -corrected to the warehouse supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in accordance with company standards of housekeeping.
• Conduct yourself in a polite and service oriented manner towards customer representatives and fellow associates.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
