Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Fontana, CA is hiring a Third Shift Traffic Clerk to schedule inbound/outbound freight and coordinate trucking. You will maintain BOLs, packing slips, and logs, and ensure timely shipment documentation and regulatory compliance.

The role requires at least 6 months forklift/reach truck experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work nights (Thu-Mon 8:00pm–4:30am). Pay is $22.50/hr with a $1.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

• 6+ months forklift/reach truck experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule inbound and outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations and capacities.
• Meet or exceed service and efficiency standards for shipping and receiving.
• Ensure accuracy of all shipping and receiving (BOL) documents.
• Handle all customers and customer representatives at the dispatch window.
• Gather and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
• Maintain legible and accurate records and logs as required.
• Assist in training new associates.
• Assist in maintaining facility security.
• Maintain the facility dock door control board to be accurate at all times.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can’t be self -corrected to the warehouse supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in accordance with company standards of housekeeping.
• Conduct yourself in a polite and service oriented manner towards customer representatives and fellow associates.

The core responsibilities of this role include: Process inbound and outbound shipping documentation, including bills of lading (BOLs), packing slips, manifests, and carrier paperwork.
Schedule carrier appointments and coordinate transportation activities for inbound and outbound shipments. Verify shipment information for accuracy and completeness before shipment release.
Monitor shipment status and communicate delays, exceptions, or service failures to appropriate stakeholders. Enter and maintain transportation and inventory records within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and customer platforms. Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation to support regulatory and customer requirements. Support temperature-sensitive and controlled-environment shipments in accordance with Life Sciences quality standards. Ensure compliance with DHL Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, GDP requirements, and customer-specific procedures. Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, documentation errors, and transportation exceptions. Communicate effectively with carriers, warehouse personnel, quality teams, customer service representatives, and customers. Assist with inventory reconciliation activities related to transportation transactions. Generate operational reports and performance metrics as required. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate shipping and transportation records. Maintain confidentiality and security of customer products and data.

Position: Third shift Traffic Clerk
Shift: 8:00pm –; 4:30am, Thursday-Monday
Pay: $22.50 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential incentive for third shift

Role Purpose:

Works closely with customer service, client representatives, and representatives and drivers of trucking firms to achieve and maintain high service levels
