Job summary

Garver in Overland Park, KS seeks a Traffic Analysis Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to join its traffic and transportation planning team. You will analyze and design projects for DOT and municipal clients, performing traffic studies, simulations, and access management plans.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited engineering program required.
4–8 years of traffic-specific experience.
PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual, Trip Generation Manual, capacity analysis, and safety analysis (HSM).
Experience with traffic simulation programs (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS.
Experience analyzing intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Perform traffic and safety studies.
Perform traffic simulation and level of service analysis.
Develop access management plans and lane configurations for new or modified alignments.
Develop traffic signal timing plans.
Prepare summary documentation and reports.
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and communicate concepts to clients.
Assist with project management to identify scopes, fees, and monitor progress.
Maintain client-focused service and track budgets to keep projects on schedule.
Prepare project proposals and participate in project pursuits.
Develop relationships with existing clients within our service area.
Mentor less experienced staff.
