Job summary

Qualifications

• Final Top Secret clearance required.
• Experience with USG or SMIL logistics/transportation.
• Familiarity with USTRANSCOM systems (IGC, SMS, ICODES, CMOS, SYNCADA).

Responsibilities

• Manage diplomatic pouch/secure courier movements and coordinate required clearances with DoS and US interagency partners.
• Coordinate and execute USMIL airlift requirements with GCCs, AMC, and USTRANSCOM.
• Prepare and validate shipment documentation and update movement tracking systems.
• Interface with customs brokers and clearance offices for nonstandard international shipments.
• Analyze options and recommend routing, consolidation, and cost-saving measures.
• Oversee hazmat declaration, packaging specs, and labeling for regulated shipments.
• Manage relationships with carriers and contract logistcs providers; negotiate service options to meet timelines and costs.
• Manual labor; lift and move medium/large packages; operate forklift and agency vehicles.
• Prepare shipment paperwork using MS Office and maintain logistics reports.

Standard Job Description Serves as a technical expert and primary advisor to a highly-proficient team that coordinates complex domestic and international transportation movements in a time-constrained environment; responsible for planning and executing multi-modal shipments and ensuring regulatory compliance while providing cost-effective movement solutions.

Key Duties and Tasks

• Manage diplomatic pouch/secure courier movements and coordinate required clearances with Department of State, US Customs and Border Protection, and other US interagency partners
• Coordinate and execute USMIL airlift requirements with GCCs, AMC, and USTRANSCOM
• Prepare and validate shipment documentation, coordinate carrier pickups, and update movement tracking systems
• Interface with customs brokers and agency clearance offices to support nonstandard international shipments
• Analyze transportation options and recommend routing, consolidation, and cost-saving measures; maintain transportation cost estimates and support budget actions
• Oversee hazardous materials declaration, packaging specifications, and labeling for regulated shipments
• Manage relationships with commercial carriers and contract logistics providers (FEDEX, DHL, Freight Forwarders); negotiate service options to meet mission timelines and cost constraints
• Manual labor required. Regularly lifts, carries, and moves medium and large packages of varying weights
• Performs forklift operations for routine loading/unloading and pallet staging, and operates agency vehicles (F-350 or equivalent) to transport personnel, equipment, and palletized cargo
• Proficient utilization or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, et al) to prepare shipment paperwork, maintain logistics tracking spreadsheets, and compose customer correspondence; applies basic Excel functions (formulas, sorting/filters) to support reporting

• Full-Time Salary Range: $100200.00 - $186200.00
