Job summary

DRW is seeking an FPGA Intern in Chicago to build advanced trading applications using cutting-edge technology. You will work under senior technologists to deliver a real-world FPGA project during ten weeks, with housing near the office and social events to explore the city.

You will gain mentorship, a structured learning path, and exposure to a hardware-driven trading environment as you contribute to meaningful projects and learn through hands-on experience in SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL and

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree with an expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Exposure to the FPGA development flow.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills.
• Able to communicate clearly and collaborate in teams.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog/Verilog or VHDL and programming in C or Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy proprietary FPGA solutions.
• Create decoders to translate raw packet data from exchanges.
• Develop modules to trigger events for traded instruments.
• Explore novel FPGA architectures to expand data processing.
• Propose and advocate innovative solutions with clear communication.
• Conduct robust research to determine optimal solutions.
• Collaborate with software engineers, traders, researchers and analysts in cross-functional teams.
