Trexquant Investment is seeking a Trading Systems Operations Engineer to ensure the reliability and performance of our trading infrastructure. You will monitor systems, respond to incidents, optimize performance, and collaborate with researchers, engineers, and the business team.

Ideal candidates hold a BS/MS in CS or a STEM field, have 3+ years in systems operations, are proficient with Linux and scripting (Python/Perl/Bash), and can communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or STEM-related field.
• 3+ years of experience as systems operations engineer in financial services.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Linux systems.
• Experience with a scripting language (Python, Perl, Bash).
• Excellent communication and client interfacing skills.
• Interest in how modern electronic markets work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor trading systems and infrastructure components for performance and reliability.
• Support new trade functionality and prime broker integrations (FIX sessions, file encryption, FTP).
• Identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
• Leverage automation to improve workflows; AI-based solutions a plus.
• Respond to alerts, investigate root causes, and prevent recurrence.
• Provide tech and analytical support to Research, Accounting, and Compliance teams.
