Job summary

Schonfeld seeks a Trading Assistant to join the DMFI team in New York. You’ll work closely with Portfolio Managers and Operations on trade bookings, data analysis, and reporting, building strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders. The role emphasizes accuracy, automation, and regulatory diligence.

You will interact with PMs on risk, attribution reporting, and P&L inquiries, contributing to the trade lifecycle and system alignment. Strong Excel, VBA, and Python skills are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Portfolio Managers or Traders.
• Knowledge of operational risk and trade life cycle events as they affect P&L.
• Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills with effective communication.
• Understanding of financial markets and Fixed Income and FX products, including futures, forwards, swaps, and options.
• Self-manageable with intellectual curiosity seeking best possible solutions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail and market interest.
• Advanced Excel with VBA and macros.
• Proficiency in Python.

Responsibilities

• Support Portfolio Managers on trade bookings and blotter management.
• Handle trade recaps and ensure accuracy across the trade life-cycle and systems.
• Oversee position management and P&L inquiries in PMS and trader systems.
• Manage FX and Futures rolls, expiries, cash balances, and events impacting trades/positions.
• Contribute to automation and tooling to reduce risk and gaps.
• Liaise with stakeholders and PMs on risk and attribution reporting.
• Ensure compliance and due diligence per regulatory and fiduciary standards.
• Coordinate with Operations, Product, and P&L teams to align systems and modeling.
