Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Trading Operations Analyst in Houston, TX. The role supports cargo-level tracking, benchmarking, and P&L reporting across Commercial Trading, Risk, and FVC Product Supply teams throughout the trade lifecycle.

You will validate data, automate processes, and develop KPI-driven insights to quantify trading value and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Middle Office, Commercial, Commercial Risk, Trading Analytics, Scheduling, or Marketing.
• High proficiency in Excel; Power BI and RightAngle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cross-functional collaboration with Commercial Trading, Risk, and FVC Product Supply to validate cargo-level data flows.
• Automate and standardize cargo tracking and benchmarking processes to reduce manual reconciliation.
• Develop benchmarking frameworks comparing realized trading outcomes vs. industry markers.
• Calibrate KPIs for Clean Products Trading and integrate into Operating P&L reporting.
• Lead discussions with Traders on performance metrics and distributed reports for management.
