Job Summary

Reporting to the Emergency Systems Foreman, the Trades Utility Worker will be responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, repair, and installation of assigned areas. The employee will assist in support of the NFPA codes, as well as other state and local building regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience and working knowledge of general maintenance and repair procedures for the building or mechanical trades.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Life Safety Systems and fire-rated assemblies.
  • Considerable skill in the use of a variety of hand and power tools, including electrical circuit test equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to be placed on rotating call-in schedule and respond to emergency call-ins within 30 minutes.
  • Experience using computers and devices for collecting and archiving data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with inspection procedures and associated documentation.
  • Experience and working knowledge of state and local building codes, such as NFPA.
  • Experience with office systems such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with maintenance, installation, or troubleshooting of Life Safety Systems, including Fire Alarm Systems, Sprinkler Systems, and Emergency Generators.
  • Nicet Level I certification in a Life Safety related field.
