Job summary

MiQ is seeking a Trader Manager to lead the Trading Team in New York. In this newly created role, you will implement trading best practices and oversee the performance of regional campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of trading experience and be passionate about developing others while driving operational excellence.

Job Description

Lead the Trading Team as the Trader Manager, reporting directly into the RVP Trading. You will work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment where operational excellence, innovation and commercial expertise are key. The role is newly created, offering the opportunity to shape the position and grow with the business.

What You'll Be Doing
Leading Delivery
  • Implement and enforce trading best practices – especially related to campaign management and product & tool adoption.
  • Consistently monitor weekly performance and pacing of regional campaigns.
  • Run weekly Pod board sessions to identify opportunities & challenges and turn them into action.
  • Make timely decisions, set clear directions and hold the team accountable to deliver high quality results.
Planning and Organizing
  • Campaign Distribution – ensure even and well‑rounded distribution of campaign count and revenue across the regional traders.
  • Prioritization – balance short‑term needs with long‑term goals.
Coach and Develop
  • Lead by example – develop and implement best practices, share solutions, and provide complete support.
  • Conduct bi‑weekly 1‑1s focusing on performance, pacing & trading excellence.
  • Support and ideate with traders across complex campaigns, including recommendations and troubleshooting.
  • Trader Development & Career Pathing – create long‑term development plans for reports to help traders grow.
Persuading and Influencing
  • Serve as the trading expert in product execution and client requirements.
  • Partner with Sales Directors & Account Management Leads to drive operational excellence.
  • Maintain consistent dialogue and feedback with Sales and Account Management.
  • Engage key stakeholders to achieve goals and build internal and external network.
Innovation
  • Contribute to U.S. wide trading strategy, working with the wider U.S. trader managers.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Trading team to test and learn across product and innovation initiatives.
  • Find new and better ways of working, then apply or implement solutions.
  • Create an environment where the team can take risks.
Your Qualifications
  • 4 years trading experience.
  • 1 year of management experience preferred.
  • Experience training & developing team members.
  • Experience in portfolio management of high‑scale accounts.
  • Experience partnering with commercial leadership.
  • Able to demonstrate impact on the wider team.
  • Good knowledge of the media landscape and digital media technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of DSP capabilities.
  • Experience running different verticals, channels and product types.
  • Able to demonstrate trading innovation.
  • Analytical/quantitative skills with ability to draw insights from large datasets with minimal support.
  • Attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Quick learner, forward thinker, solutions focussed.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present insights and reports to internal & external stakeholders.

Pay Transparency

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, MiQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Los Angeles and takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including skill set, experience, training, licensure, certifications and other business and organizational needs.

The base range for this position is within $100,000 - $125,000. The actual on‑target earnings of the role are in $150,000 - $180,000. This range may vary for positions outside of Los Angeles as it has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled and does not take into account our bonus and commission structures.
