Job summary

McCarter & English, LLP is seeking an IP/IT paralegal for our Boston office (also serving New York and Newark). The role requires three years of experience in domestic trademark prosecution and oppositions, plus handling foreign filings through foreign counsel.

Duties include managing mail, correspondence, and an active calendar, with emphasis on accuracy and deadlines. Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel is important.

Qualifications

• Three years of IP/IT paralegal experience.
• Experience in domestic trademark prosecution and oppositions.
• Ability to manage mail, correspondence, and calendar coordination.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clearance searches and review references for conflicts.
• Prepare and file trademark applications and related documents with USPTO and foreign offices.
• Manage and update the trademark docket and deadlines.
• Correspond with clients to report status and respond to inquiries.
• Support litigation and enforcement matters, including exhibits and discovery materials.
