Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Skills Trade Instructor Assistant to support hands-on training in electrical, HVAC/EPA, solar installation and related trades within the Clean Tech Accelerator. The role involves lab setup, assisting with lectures, labs, and demonstrations, and helping recruit and place program participants.

You will shadow two training cohorts and prepare the instructor trainee to teach future cohorts, contributing to a practical, outcome-focused program that blends classroom

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Experience in building/apartment maintenance or solar installation work is required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Gmail, and Google Apps.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Skills Trade Instructor with lectures, labs, and demonstrations.
• Help deliver technical Clean Tech training curricula to trainees.
• Support in recruiting and placement activities for program cohorts.
• Facilitate hands-on lab sessions and ensure lab safety and organization.
• Assist with course updates and student progress assessments.
