Job summary

The San Diego Job Corps Center in San Diego, CA is seeking a CTT Substitute Instructor to deliver career-technical instruction per approved curricula and provide guidance to help students reach their academic goals. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent (or substitute teaching certification), 1 year of related experience, and a valid driver's license.

Work schedule is as needed, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required and/or substitute teaching certification, as required by the state of employment (or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire)
• One (1) years of work related experience in the designated career training area.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
• Coordinate with counselors and staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training and/ or instruction.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe training environment.
• Participate in student assessment panels, perform required documentation and evaluation using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.

Job responsibilities: Instructors are responsible for the career technical instruction per approved curricula. They will provide training and basic guidance and direction to help students achieve their academic goals.
