Job summary

Palm Beach State College is seeking a Trade and Industry Lab Technician to provide operational support for multiple shop and lab facilities. You will perform preventative maintenance, manage inventory, order materials, and handle hazardous materials in a safe, compliant manner.

The role requires an associate degree or a high school diploma with experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, OSHA knowledge, and strong attention to detail. Some travel between campus locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and 1 year related experience OR HS diploma/GED with 3 years related experience
• Knowledge of MS Office and OSHA regulations
• Best practices in trade and industry labs and shops
• Ability to travel between campus locations

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance for systems, machines, and facilities
• Manage inventory records and ordering of materials
• Dispose of hazardous materials per safety rules
• Inspect equipment for safe operation and report issues
• Maintain records for facilities and equipment
• Coordinate, install, repair and maintain machinery and fabricates metal parts
• Respond to inquiries from staff and external sources on policies
• Back up responsibilities and cross-train with other staff
