Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent demonstrated through work experience or education.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with sub-investment grade clients in the US market.
  • Exposure to natural resources/utilities/commodities sectors a plus.
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of mechanics, drivers and risks of trade products.

Responsibilities

  • Market GTB trade products to potential Santander clients in the natural resources/utilities/commodities space and identify new opportunities.
  • Prepare commercial plans, pitches, and RFIs targeting C‑Suite interactions.
  • Provide pricing/market intelligence and report progress to senior management.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders for end-to-end execution including onboarding and due diligences.
  • Ensure governance and adherence to bank operating practices throughout the client journey.

They manage the transactions from origination through execution.This role will identify opportunities and successfully sell innovative solutions to American clients across the natural resources/utilities/commodities industry. The associate will also work together with Relationship Managers to provide Trade & Working Capital SolutionsAct as advisor, consultant, and first point of contact for clients’ ongoing trade finance needs. Manage client journey from sales through implementation, and act as escalation point of contact. Adherence to internal processes to ensure control and transparency over sales activity Essential Functions/Responsibilities:* Market GTB trade products (Receivables, SCF, Structured Trade, Letters of Credit, EAF, etc.) to potential Santander clients in the natural resources/utilities/commodities space, proactively looking for new business opportunities covering domestic or cross-border trade, with or without recourse and under a portfolio or name-by-name approach.* Preparation of commercial plans, pitches and RFIs designed to target C Suite level interaction through: Analysis of client’s financial strategy and their financial reports and compare them with their peers in the relevant sector, as well as presenting how the Santander trade products can support the client for it to achieve its strategic goals* Provide pricing / market intelligence to transactions, ensuring transaction profitability in line with the Bank’s capital models presenting to the relevant committees, where applicable.* Reporting to senior management regarding the progress of the commercial agenda* Maintain knowledge and awareness of key trends across our core sectors and potential application of our working capital products* Contribute to the creation and future development of the product proposition through regular sharing of client feedback.* Coordinate stakeholders both internal (CDD, Compliance, Risks, Legal, IT, Compliance, Operations, etc.) and external (Legal firms, Insurers, brokers, etc.) to provide a best-in-class service and seamless end to end execution including client onboarding and due diligences process* Ensure understanding of the Bank’s operating practices and governance and ensure these are followed in line with the guidelines.**What You Bring:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
