Job summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager based at Fair Lakes, VA or Newport News to oversee export and import controls for international activities. You will partner with program teams, supply chain, legal and business leaders to ensure compliant execution of trade activities.

You will develop and manage export/import processes to align with U.S./foreign regulations across marketing, sales, and supply chain.

Qualifications

• 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelor's in related field
• 2 years relevant progressive experience with Master's in related field
• 8 years relevant progressive experience with High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience with ITAR and EAR regulations including exemptions and exceptions
• Experience with classification of products and software
• Experience with U.S. Customs regulations
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Draft export and import licenses, commodity jurisdictions, permits and certifications.
• Review jurisdiction and classification, HTS classification, licensing strategies and processes for compliance.
• Monitor import activities, provide clearance details and respond to broker requests.
• Maintain trade compliance records per regulatory requirements.
• Assist Law Department and Corporate Trade Compliance Office in investigations and resolutions of issues.
• Advise internal customers on international marketing strategies.

Summary:

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our Trade Compliance team as a Trade Compliance Manager. Based at either our Fair Lakes, VA or Newport News location, you will collaborate closely with program teams, supply chain, legal, and business leaders to ensure the compliant and efficient execution of international trade activities.

As a key member of the Mission Technologies compliance organization, you will develop and manage comprehensive export and import control processes to ensure adherence to U.S. and foreign regulations across international marketing, sales, supply chain, and other business operations.

What You Will Do:

• Responsible for drafting export and import licenses, commodity jurisdictions, permits and certifications.
• Assist internal customer in the review of jurisdiction and classification, HTS Classification, licensing strategies and implementing operational processes for assuring trade compliance.
• Monitor import activities, provide clearance details and respond to broker request for information.
• Maintain applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform assessments and assist the Law Department and Corporate Trade Compliance Office in investigating and resolving compliance issues and questions.
• Advise the internal customer in international marketing strategies.

What We're Looking For:

• 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8years relevant progressive experience.
• Experience with ITAR and EAR regulations include the use of the exemptions and exceptions
• Experience with the classification of products and software
• Experience with U.S. Customs regulations
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
