Purpose

We are seeking a customs and trade compliance specialist to be part of FormFactor’s trade compliance team. This role involves assessing and resolving trade compliance challenges, with a focus on customs compliance. This position performs customs management by improving customs and trade procedures, creating solutions to optimize customs duty savings, mitigating trade risks, articulating customs positions, and advising internal functional partners. The trade compliance analyst reports to the Director of Regulatory Compliance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform commodity classification (US HTS, Schedule B, ECCN.)
• Lead cross-functional efforts to ensure items have accurate classifications, country of origin, customs value, PGA data, etc.
• Interface with customs broker in the preparation of customs entries and ensure timely & compliant customs activities are performed.
• Partner with supply chain on broker management activities.
• Manage post entry activity in coordination with brokers including but not limited to post summary corrections, protests, reconciliation, CF28, CF29 or any customs notifications.
• Act as operational and subject matter focal point, provide ad-hoc advice, and provide training to cross-functional peers.
• Monitor changes in tariff or duty related programs, assess the impact, evaluate and implement solutions to mitigate the impact. Provide detailed duty recovery data related to tariff mitigation efforts to the appropriate groups
• Develop and implement processes, monitor and report on activity or requirements related to drawback, FTZ’s or other duty related programs.
• Lead process improvement efforts.
  
  

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of practical experience in international trade compliance.
• Understanding of the harmonized tariff system, free trade agreements and relevant tariff knowledge to ensure accurate classification and entry of goods. Practical knowledge of CBP compliance best practices and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and capability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a proactive, methodical manner.
• Proficiency in US Customs systems (e.g., ACE, ACH) and data analysis tools - PowerBI, Excel
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and Trade Management systems (e.g, GTM.)
• Ability to persuade, influence, build rapport, and adapts style to differing audiences; often advises others on difficult matters.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer applications appropriate to the position and assignment.

The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $104,600 and $137,235. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
