Job summary

Kodiak Cakes is seeking a Trade Analyst to manage daily trade activities, deductions, and accounts receivable. The role bridges finance, sales, and operations to support trade processes, monitor customer performance, and contribute to overall financial health.

Ideal candidates will have meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and experience with ERP and trade management tools. Park City HQ or remote work option available.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile Customer Invoicing with 3PL inventory reporting.
• Apply customer deduction spend to the correct GL accounts.
• Apply daily cash receipts to customer accounts and reconcile.
• Verify offsets and deductions against invoices and trade plans.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including sales, finance, and operations.
• Analyze trade deductions, claims and promotions to identify trends.

Job Type:Full-Time / Salaried (Exempt) - $62,000 - $72,000
Job Location:Kodiak HQ: Park City,Utahor Remote

Individual base salary for this role ultimately will depend on numerous factors, including but not limited to experience, job-related skills, relevant education or training, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate could fall anywhere within the stated range. This role also is eligible to participate in Kodiak's annual discretionary bonus program, which is dependent on various factors, including individual and company performance.

The Trade Analyst is responsible for the daily activities of trade management, deduction management, and collection of accounts receivable. This role is responsible for all accounts receivable-related tasks but will also be utilized for other related accounting and finance needs as assigned. This role bridges finance, sales, and operations to support trade processes, monitor customer account performance, and contribute to overall financial health.

What will this position do?

• Reconcile Customer Invoicing with 3PL’s Inventory Reporting
• Accurately process and apply customer deduction spend to the correct GL accounts
• Applies daily cash receipts to customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation.
• Verify all material offsets and deductions charged againstinvoices including, but not limited to, confirmingthe tradeplanspentviatradeplanning softwareby reviewing plans and contracts.
• Communicate and collaboratewith a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including Kodiak team members, customers, and brokers.
• Analyze trade deductions, claims, and promotions toidentifytrends and root causes.
• Provide insights to improve tradespendingefficiency and minimize outstanding receivables.
• Prepare andmaintainweeklyAR aging reports, customer payment performance summaries, and KPI dashboards.
• Documenttrade agreements, payment terms, credit policies, and report non-compliance.
• Investigate and resolve disputes related to pricing, promotions, and deductions.
• Work closelywith sales,commercialfinance, and customer service teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Identifyand implement process improvements to enhance AR management and trade analysis.
• Support the automation of AR and trade finance workflowsthrough uploads,scanners, Power BI reports,and partnerwith IT to createcustomer specifictools.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and trade finance policies.
• Dispute andcollectallerroneousmaterial offsets and deductions.
• Collectoutstanding receivables toachieve dayssales outstandingtargets.
• Administer credit procedures for both new and existing customers.
• Assistin the monthly close of financialstatementsincludingreconciliationsandaccruals.
• Assistin preparing andobtainingdocumentation for the annual audit.
