J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Tractor Mechanic in Westfield, MA to perform intermediate maintenance, service, and repair on tractors and related equipment.

This role may involve outdoor work and multiple shifts, including nights and weekends, with overtime possibilities. The position requires 1–2 years in semi-tractor maintenance, A/C certification, and DOT/FHWA inspections, along with basic tools provided by the employee.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1–2 years of Semi-Tractor maintenance/repair experience or equivalent
• A/C Certification required
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT and FHWA inspections and air brakes
• Basic tools must be supplied by employee in most locations
• Willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts including nights/weekends

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors (fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, transmission, air brakes) and perform to manufacturer specifications
• Troubleshoot tractor issues and complete work orders accurately
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring of new Tractor Technician trainees
• Maintain safety procedures and professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers
• Adhere to standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines

Hunt tractors and other equipment. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot issues, complete all fleet maintenance processes, and ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. A/C Certification, At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes. Basic tools are required to successfully perform this role. These tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations.
