Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration, located in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Tractor Operator within the Environmental Management Service. You will operate tractors, backhoes, loaders, and trucks to move supplies and perform grounds maintenance, snow removal, and landscape work.

The role involves daily equipment upkeep, snow/ice removal, and plantings of trees, shrubs, and flowers, with a 6:00am–2:30pm schedule, a 40-hour week, and one weekend day requirement; evenings/holidays may be needed based

Responsibilities

• Operates farm-type tractors, backhoe attachments and front end loaders.
• Operates trucks for delivery of items from one area to another, such as supplies, equipment.
• Operates mowers to mow lawns, to remove leaves, to remove snow, clean parking lots, roads, sidewalks, entranceways, and to remove and replace soil.
• Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of tractor, truck and all equipment used.
• Performs backhoe operations and snow/ice removal.
• Plants trees, shrubs and flower beds.
• Keeps trash and debris removed from roadways, sidewalks and entrances.
• Performs other duties as assigned
