Job summary

Wilson’s Orchard in Des Moines, Iowa, is seeking a friendly Tractor Driver and Tour Guide to give guest tractor rides and lead tours of the farm. You will communicate clearly, educate visitors, tell stories, and entertain while ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for all ages.

Responsibilities

• Work with management to organize and carry out tractor rides and tours of our Orchard & Farm.
• Ensure the safety of our guests, especially that the tractor is always operated safely.
• Ensure that the tractor and trailer are in good condition before and after tractor rides.
• Consistently provide outstanding service to all guests.Take care to represent the Wilson’s brand well in your interactions with guests.
• Work with management to organize and execute regular tractor and trailer preventative maintenance.
• Keep the tractor, trailer, and surrounding areas of the farm clean.
• Work with other teams in the company as needed; when not giving rides or tours you may be asked to work in the Farm Market, Pizza Shack, or Orchard & Farm.

As Tractor Driver and Tour Guide you will be responsible for giving our guest tractor rides and leading tours of Wilson’s Orchard & Farm. As tour guide it is important that you are a good communicator, educator, personable, able to tell stories, and entertain guests. As a tractor driver you will be pulling a trailer with 20-30 guests, safe driving and attention to detail are imperative.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to perform basic maintenance on the tractor, trailer, and other farm equipment.
• Strong mechanical abilities.
• Experience driving manual vehicles with trailers in hilly and rough terrain.
