Job description

TRACR Target Radio Technician - KUWAIT

V2X is seeking a TRACR Target Radio Technician to program and maintain Radio Control Units (RCUs) and interface with Targetry Range Automated Control and Recording (TRACR) computer equipment. The technician will support gunnery and range training events, troubleshoot technical issues, and restore functionality of RCU equipment on TRACR-enabled ranges in Kuwait. The role reports to the Range Support Supervisor and requires U.S. citizenship, proof of citizenship, and a current U.S. passport.

Required Hours: Six days per week, up to 8 hours per day at OCONUS sites; standard 40 hours at CONUS sites.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage IT systems including TTS/RCUs, TRACR computer systems, FLIR camera systems, and radio range equipment.
  2. Maintain range equipment, coordinate maintenance, and process work orders.
  3. Program TTS/RCUs RF equipment for range networks.
  4. Manage range resources to support training activities.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external technical teams for maintenance and support.
  6. Prepare and stage equipment, perform daily servicing, and troubleshoot radio communications.
  7. Operate test equipment and perform adjustments on radio systems.
  8. Review schedules, prepare reports, and maintain records.
  9. Work independently, contribute to reports, and identify efficiencies to reduce costs.
  10. Assist in training personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge of TTS/RCU targeting equipment, networking, and firmware/software.
  • Understanding of Wireless LAN systems.
  • Experience with Army maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Familiarity with weapons systems and range operations.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Army Range safety protocols.
  • Ability to work under deadlines, work independently, and in desert terrain using maps.
  • Willingness to live and work in Kuwait.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mechanical skills.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to obtain US and Kuwait driver’s licenses, and security clearance.
  • US citizenship and a valid US passport with at least 2 years remaining.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as a Battalion/Brigade gunner or in planning gunnery scenarios.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience working on US government contracts in Southwest Asia.
  • Knowledge of military training methodologies and technical schematics.
  • Strong organizational skills.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Training, Management, Business, or related field, plus 4 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
Physical Demands

Regularly use fingers and hands for equipment handling, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in extreme weather conditions with safety gear required.

Contractor personnel must follow all policies and regulations; tours are unaccompanied.

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a U.S. SECRET security clearance.
