Your profile

Education & Experience:

  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Motorsport, Mechanical, Automotive, or Control Systems Engineering.
  • Multiple years of trackside experience in control system tuning and parameter optimization at a high level (e.g., WEC, Formula E, F1).
  • Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics in limit-cornering conditions.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and optimizing control strategies for race cars.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of control theory, signal processing, and vehicle dynamics modelling.
  • High proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and vTAG, along with other development and simulation tools.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) and real-time simulation platforms.
  • Expertise in data analysis and performance monitoring tools used in motorsport.
  • Experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning applications for control systems.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure trackside environments.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills—able to work efficiently with engineers, drivers, and technical teams.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including weekends, for race and test events.

General Information

Your mission
  • Steer the technical development direction for advanced control systems, ensuring optimized operations across the team.
  • Optimization and tuning of vehicle-dynamic control systems, including traction control, energy management, pitlane speed control, brake balance, and hybrid deployment strategies.
  • Coordinate control system software development.
  • Perform in-depth investigative studies to influence vehicle design and development, always with a focus on enhancing race car performance.
  • Monitor vehicle legality and performance, diagnosing issues and implementing corrective actions to ensure optimal race performance.
  • Analyze and interpret performance data, considering factors such as circuit layout, driving style, mechanical setup interactions, and reliability risks.
  • Simulate and model advanced control strategies, with a strong emphasis on hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) testing using dynos and driving simulators.
  • Regularly document findings and recommendations, presenting clear technical reports on simulation studies, methodologies, and results.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to performance engineers in control systems development and optimization.
  • Drive innovation in control strategy development, ensuring RaceOn remains at the cutting edge of motorsport technology.
  • Enhance simulator correlation and real-world application of vehicle control models for maximum on-track performance gains.
