Job summary

Railserve is hiring safety-focused Track Welders to support track construction and maintenance across Indiana. The role is outdoor and requires travel to multiple sites, with physically demanding tasks and long hours.

Welders will repair and rebuild railroad track using a variety of tools, follow strict safety rules, and work with crews to keep rail operations running smoothly. Strong welding skills and machine operation experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Arc welding experience required.
• Experience with cutting and welding techniques.
• Thermite welding experience preferred.
• Able to perform heavy physical labor.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Able to read and understand regulations.
• Good verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform track maintenance, repair, and installation.
• Drive spikes into ties and install rail anchors; align ties.
• Move and lift track materials and equipment safely.
• Follow safety rules, wear PPE, and maintain safe work area.
• Inspect track and right-of-way for problems or defects.
• Operate track-related equipment (hammer, impact wrenches, rail drill, saw).
• Collaborate with coworkers to complete tasks and meet project goals.
