4. Salary: Entry rate approximately $34.90/hr

About the Role:

Embark on a career with BNSF Railway in our Engineering Department. As part of our Track Maintenance Team, you'll construct, inspect, and repair tracks and railway assets, ensuring safe and efficient railway corridors.

Position Type: Full-time (40 hours/week). Requires on-call availability, overtime, night shifts, alternating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Travel: Travel to and stay at job sites for extended periods, sometimes days or weeks, within the designated seniority region.

Training: Company-paid on-the-job and classroom training, including travel to the BNSF Training Center.

Responsibilities:

• Track maintenance, repair, and installation, including rebuilding tracks, removing hazards, and maintaining right of way.
• Maintain trackbed by manually handling ballast, ties, and rails.
• Operate power and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Work in diverse weather conditions and around machinery, adhering to safety protocols.

Additional Information: No relocation assistance. 60-day probationary period. Union membership with BMWE, with dues required. Seniority transfers are union-based and require approval.

Qualifications:

• Legal ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
• At least 18 years old by start date.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to report to work location.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, distinguish colors, and work in demanding environments.
• Follow safety policies, wear protective equipment, and adhere to work hours and travel requirements.
