Job summary

Harlem Children’s Zone seeks a part-time Track & Field Coach for the Promise Academy After-School program in New York. The role focuses on building a high-quality track and field/cross-country program, leading practices, and fostering scholar-athlete engagement.

You will organize practices and meets, monitor progress, and collaborate with administration to ensure adherence to the Athletic Department Code of Conduct, while promoting wellness and growth.

Qualifications

• Keen knowledge of USATF and AAU regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with scholars, parents, staff.
• Robust attention to detail, familiarity with logistics of track meets and events.

Responsibilities

• Create and expand the track and field/cross-country program.
• Develop and administer effective practices to keep scholar-athletes engaged.
• Organize off-season training, practices, and meets.
• Monitor and report on student progress in classroom and on field.
• Ensure scholar-athletes are in compliance with the Athletic Department Code of Conduct.
• Manage documents pertaining to scholars on the team.
