Job summary

The Susquehanna University is seeking an assistant coach to instruct and develop student-athletes in alignment with the university’s athletic mission. The role supports the head coach in administering the program. Ideal for individuals passionate about athletics, this position offers hands-on experience and does not require prior coaching experience.

Duties may be required before, during, and after the season, as determined by the head coach. This position is exempt under FLSA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with no experience; or three (3) years of relevant playing and/or coaching experience.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and compliance responsibilities.
• Strong coaching and instructional skills with clear communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to mentor and motivate student athletes while fostering an inclusive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Instruct student athletes in rules, techniques and strategies during practices and events.
• Provide direct instruction, feedback and mentorship to enhance athletic and academic development.
• Promote physical and mental well-being of student athletes.
• Support recruiting strategies, practices planning and game strategy execution.
