Job summary

Sonoma Raceway is seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Technician to support the road course, paddock, buildings, and grounds, ensuring safe and ready daily operations for NASCAR, NHRA, and other events. This hands-on role involves preparing spaces, performing routine maintenance, setting up for events, and turnover between events.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in facilities maintenance, construction, landscaping, or related field.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience operating forklifts, tractors, lifts, or other heavy equipment; training provided.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on event needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the road course, paddock and kart track for daily use.
• Perform repairs to the racing surface, tire packs and barriers.
• Ensure the track is clean and safe for the day’s scheduled activities.
• Reconfigure the road course for upcoming events and activities.
• Move furniture, paddock K-wall, and install signage in preparation for events.
• Perform overnight turnovers as needed to prepare for clients.
• Complete work orders across venue buildings including but not limited to lighting, minor sheetrock, painting, door hardware and ceiling tile repairs.
• Proactively inspect facilities and identify maintenance or repair needs before they impact operations.
• Maintain the raceway grounds through mowing, landscaping, seat cleaning, and sign installation/removal.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
