Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a senior earth scientist with isotope geochemistry and mass spectrometry expertise to lead analytical chemistry research for characterization and forensic analysis of nuclear materials.

The role combines experimental work with theoretical studies in support of national security, environmental monitoring, and treaty verification, requiring independent contributions within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA with 7+ years of relevant work experience, or MS/MA with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferred Qualifications include 10+ years of isotope geochemistry and radiochemical sample processing; DOE lab experience; ability to influence research directions.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample prep and characterization using isotope mass spectrometry techniques.
• Engage in data analysis, reporting, and sponsor meetings; maintain meticulous documentation.
