TPWD - Maintenance Specialist III (Operations Ranger)

Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Park Superintendent, this journey-level role involves building maintenance, natural resource management, and public service at Colorado Bend State Park. Responsibilities include groundskeeping, equipment repair, operating various machinery, assisting with natural resource tasks, and emergency response.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Three years of maintenance experience
  • Valid State driver’s license

Preferred qualifications include experience in public interaction, First Aid/CPR, Search and Rescue training, and NWCG Fire Fighter certification. Skills required encompass building repair, maintenance, customer service, and effective communication.

Working Conditions: Outdoor work in a park setting, manual labor, operating vehicles and equipment, and responding to emergencies. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible hours, including overtime and on-call shifts.
