TPWD MISSION

To manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation opportunities for present and future generations.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Performs routine building maintenance, operates equipment, enforces rules, and assists in resource management at Cedar Hill State Park. Works under moderate supervision and performs additional duties as assigned. Position may fluctuate between full-time and part-time based on needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two years of maintenance experience
  • Valid driver’s license

Substitution: 30 semester hours from an accredited college may substitute for one year of experience, up to one year.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with the public, customer service, and public relations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of maintenance techniques and repairs
  • Skills in using tools and equipment
  • Effective communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in various conditions

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work in a park environment, flexible hours, possible overtime
  • Manual labor, outdoor work, travel, and emergency response required
