TPR Pro Fee Coding Ops Director (Remote based in US)

This role provides enterprise coding management oversight over professional coding for Tenet Physician Resources (TPR). The individual is responsible for managing all coding operations activities in collaboration with the VP, Clinical Operations. Manages daily unbilled activities with TPR coders, GBC Coders, and vendor coders to ensure quality is 97% or better and coding is within turnaround standards. Drives process improvement around denials and voids to meet standards. Ensures alignment and partnership with facility leaders, providers, and RCM.

Ensure adequate resources and staffing for consistent engagement coverage. Manages service line performance, engagement, quality, and productivity standards. Interfaces directly with Tenet hospitals and TPR market leaders, and manages relationships with national vendor partners.

Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000, determined based on qualifications and experience. Full-time position.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or relevant field with 10 years of experience in a comparable position.
  • Ten (10) years of progressive pro-fee experience, including five (5) years of management.
  • Current CCS and/or CPC certification.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% nationally; Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be conducted on finalists.
  • Strong leadership in Pro Fee coding, knowledge of wRVUs, CPT Assistant, and coding guidelines.
  • Ability to build and maintain team dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general IT skills.
  • Self-directed with high level of autonomy.
  • Implement policies supporting service provision.
  • High knowledge of coding processes and nomenclatures.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual or facility setting.
  • Operate computer peripherals for coding and abstracting duties.
  • Adhere to AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding, monitor team for violations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of professional coding certification requirements and promote staff certification.
  • Support collaboration between coding and financial operations.
  • Work collaboratively with organizational leaders.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coding management experience in a large multi-facility health system.
  • Additional AAPC credentials.
  • Leadership of large coding teams in complex multi-hospital systems.
  • Competency in coding for IP, OP, ED, and pro-fee services.
Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary: $120,000-$150,000, based on location, qualifications, and experience. Potential for annual incentive bonus (10%-25%) and sign-on/relocation bonuses for management roles.

  • Support coding team with educational resources, interface with leadership.
  • Ensure staffing and compliance with HR policies, monitor DNFB/C and FBNE targets.
  • Improve financial and operational performance through data analysis.
  • Monitor coding quality, coordinate feedback, and ensure compliance with updates and policies.
  • Collaborate on audit responses, maintain accuracy standards of ≥97%.
  • Participate in business expansion, develop tactical plans and budgets.
  • Stay current with healthcare regulations, attend relevant workshops and seminars.
