Job description

The TPR EMR Coach, under the supervision of the Market Clinical Informatics Manager and following established policies and procedures, functions as a clinical application expert. The primary responsibility is training TPR office staff to efficiently use clinical applications, including but not limited to Athena, Dragon, Medi-Mobile, and Collector. The TPR EMR Coach provides proactive, at-the-elbow support to clinic staff and conducts purposeful clinic rounding. This role involves supporting providers and staff to ensure successful integration of clinical applications into workflows, ensuring consistent and effective application use aligned with policies, procedures, and standards. The TPR EMR Coach may also create educational content to communicate and educate providers and staff. Regular feedback and suggestions are communicated to the Market Clinical Informatics Director, aiming to improve user satisfaction and support. The role requires daily commuting to the market, with up to 25% travel outside and 75% within the market. A valid MVR is required for final candidates due to travel requirements.

Responsibilities
  1. Onsite onboarding and training of physicians and support staff (e.g., PSR, MA, referral staff, biller, coder, PM) in outpatient settings on systems including Athena, Patient Portal, Phreesia, MediMobile, Dragon dictation, and Virtual Visits.
  2. Assist with system implementation activities such as analysis, design, configuration, testing, and support.
  3. Review and communicate new system release items with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with Tenet policies.
  4. Provide recommendations on EHR workflows and functionality during weekly onsite visits.
  5. Assist with custom template development, scheduling templates, EPCS setup, HIE requests, TAO, and practice role requests.
  6. Proactively schedule clinic visits to assess system adoption and address issues from staff.
  7. Create and submit visit reports to leadership.
  8. Monitor end-user reports to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  9. Process TenetOne tickets related to patient merge, training requests, offboarding, etc.
  10. Conduct New Hire CSS orientation.
  11. Create and review educational materials regularly.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum of one year experience in ambulatory clinical settings (e.g., physician clinics).
  2. Minimum of one year experience with clinical information systems; Athena experience preferred.
  3. High School Diploma or GED required.
  4. Ability to collaborate effectively with clinicians.
  5. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  6. Understanding of clinical workflows and technology integration.
  7. Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  8. Professionalism, credibility, and customer service orientation.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
