About The Role

Amsted Automotive, TransForm Products, Sterling Heights, is seeking a day shift TPM Coordinator responsible for implementing and administering the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) system. The role involves ensuring the TPM standard is applied to all critical equipment, planning and coordinating maintenance work orders, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the daily administrative projects of the maintenance department.

What You’ll Do

  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out and electrical safe work practices.
  • Operate forklifts and man lifts.
  • Commission all critical plant assets, including creating and updating bill of materials.
  • Maintain and organize files for equipment service records, PM logs, process control logs, and general information.
  • Organize and maintain filing systems, maintenance library, machine manuals, and training materials.
  • Establish preventive and predictive maintenance inspection tasks and manage critical spare parts.
  • Organize, plan, and maintain the work order database system.
  • Generate reports to support the Maintenance Department as required.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities with the Maintenance supervisor.
  • Manage items that need repairs by outside vendors.
  • Promote lean manufacturing principles and participate in Waste Elimination Teams.
  • Provide administrative support for the Maintenance department.
  • Support team goals across assembly and press departments.
  • Work with CMMS systems and coordinate with crib attendants to ensure proper parts inventory.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • High school diploma or GED; some college preferred, especially in mechanical, industrial, or electrical maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work with skilled trades associates.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance, IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 standards.

What Else You’ll Need To Know

  • At least two years planning and scheduling maintenance in manufacturing.
  • Experience with MRO purchases and inventory management.
  • Vendor management skills and experience as a TPM Coordinator or similar role preferred.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and SAP.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, manual dexterity, and physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with noise exposure, extended sitting, standing, lifting, and bending.
