The Opportunity
At Alera Group, our Employee Benefits team helps organizations attract, retain, and support their employees through innovative benefits solutions. As a Benefits Plan Administrator, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional client service, building trusted relationships, and helping clients navigate the complexities of employee benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process HRA/MERP, FSA, and HSA claims accurately and within established service standards
- Review claims according to client-specific plan designs and eligibility requirements
- Maintain benefit plans, participant information, plan configurations, and electronic payment information
- Deliver responsive customer service through phone and email communications with participants and employers
- Research and resolve claim discrepancies, reimbursement questions, and payment issues
- Partner with insurance carriers, clients, Account Managers, and internal teams to support plan administration
- Prepare reports and requested documentation while maintaining accurate records and workflows
- Assist with new client implementations, plan changes, enrollment activities, and other administrative functions as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in employee benefits, health insurance, claims administration, or customer service
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and other business applications
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and data entry accuracy
- Accident & Health, Life & Fixed Annuities License required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Third-Party Administration (TPA) experience
- Experience administering HRA, MERP, FSA, COBRA, HSA, or other employee benefit plans
- Knowledge of IRS and HIPAA regulations related to consumer-driven health plans
- Experience working within benefits administration or claims processing systems
- Professional phone, written communication, and customer service skills
- Experience supporting employee benefits clients and participants
Compensation
- Hourly Range: $28–$30 hourly

Work Arrangement
This position is Hybrid
- Remote: This role is primarily remote.
- Hybrid: This role follows a hybrid work arrangement, combining in-office and remote work based on business needs and manager expectations.
- In-Office: This role requires regular on-site attendance at the designated office location.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to support office implementations, training, and collaboration with project teams.
