Job summary

MG+M The Law Firm is seeking experienced Litigation Paralegals for its Toxic Tort practice in California offices Irvine, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Walnut Creek. The firm emphasizes teamwork and a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in Toxic Tort Defense litigation is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and/or File & Serve Xpress.
  • Attendance & Punctuality: Consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Customer service: Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
  • Dependability: Follow instructions, complete tasks on time, work independently, and commit to the hours necessary to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
  • Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
  • Draft, proofread, and finalize pleadings, discovery requests and responses (including Judicial Council form interrogatories, special interrogatories, and requests for production), and other litigation documents under attorney supervision.
  • Coordinate deposition logistics for plaintiffs, co-defendants, treating physicians, and expert witnesses, including scheduling, exhibit preparation, and travel arrangements, often on compressed timelines.
  • Review, imdex, and summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, employment and product identification records, and expert reports.
  • Track and manage document productions, including coordination with document review platforms.
  • Assist with preparation of expert witness materials, including exposure summaries, product identification charts, and Cal-OSHA/industrial hygiene-related exhibits, as applicable.
  • Liaise with co-defense counsel, defense/plaintiff liaison counsel, insurance carriers, and court personnel common in coordinated toxic tort proceedings.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, including product identification research, corporate history research, and case law relevant to exposure and causation defenses.
  • Contemporaneous accounting and submission of personal billable time.

MG+M The Law Firm is currently hiring experienced Litigation Paralegals to join our Toxic Tort practice group in any of our four California offices: Irvine, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Walnut Creek.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
