Summary

A Cashier associate must provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, processing transactions accurately and promptly, and maintaining a friendly demeanor. Responsibilities include greeting customers, scanning merchandise, handling refunds/exchanges, and closing transactions. The role also involves training, stocking, and maintenance duties. As often the first and last point of contact, cashiers should always greet customers warmly and thank them upon departure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow CNRG’s Mission and Values
  • Process customer transactions accurately (credit, cash, checks)
  • Greet customers entering and leaving the store
  • Verify merchandise details for transactions
  • Handle returns, exchanges, and sales
  • Answer phone calls courteously
  • Manage payments on accounts and C.O.D. tickets
  • Complete and file paperwork such as rain checks and due tickets
  • Count cash, prepare deposits, and organize the cash drawer
  • Use verification systems per company policies
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Assist customers in locating items and call for assistance if needed
  • Protect company assets through proper cash handling
  • Maintain a positive attitude and excellent customer service
  • Follow all cashier procedures and accurately distinguish products
  • Keep the store clean and organized
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications for Success

Must demonstrate CNRG’s Mission and Values, possess strong communication skills, and be customer and team-oriented. Organizational skills and multitasking ability are essential. Physical requirements include climbing ladders, reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and handling odd-shaped items. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is necessary.
