Job Details

Job Location: MSC - Carlsbad, CA

Salary Range: $17.00 - $18.00 Hourly

Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Assist with lounge and bar set-up and set or pre-set tables in dining room as assigned.
• Greet and seat guests as assigned.
• Manage and maintain guest flow in the lounge.
• Answer house phone and take action on calls such as creating reservations, providing menu and lounge information, and taking to-go orders.
• Manage and work with multiple systems to manage reservations, wait times and input guest orders.
• Assist with closing checks, taking payment and taking guest orders.
• Complete all side work (filling condiment containers, rolling silverware, stocking stations etc. as assigned)
• Assist with cleaning the lounge area including wipe down tables, resetting seating, emptying trash receptacles, transporting trash to dumpster areas.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness of restaurant/kitchen to DKN Hotels’ standards and all health codes at all times.
• Relocate and light firepits and heaters.
• Adhere to food safety and company safety requirements.
• Report any missing/found articles, or damage to the Lounge Supervisor.
• Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
• Deliver DKN’s "Home Away From Home" experience

Supervisory Responsibility:
None

Independent Judgment Used:
Only within the guidelines established by management and to the extent of operating within DKN Hotels’ policies and procedures.

Working Conditions/Environment:
Outdoor dining areas and kitchen including commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning agents. Access to entire exterior and interior of property. This position is seasonal.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Experience:
Minimum one (1) year experience.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
Ability to communicate in English with guests, management and fellow team members to their understanding. Ability to provide legible written communications. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.

Physical Requirements:
Standing for long periods of time, frequently walking. Repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying and twisting. Reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Lifting unassisted up to 30 lbs. of bulk goods. Exposure to cleaning agents.
